Harvest to End Hunger: Volunteering at the Oregon Food Bank Learning Garden

Hennebery Eddy Architects has a tradition of community engagement and service. For several years, we’ve worked with the Oregon Food Bank, sorting food for distribution and planting vegetables in the Learning Garden. This year, staff members and families spent a Saturday morning weeding, watering and harvesting produce in northeast Portland.

The Oregon Food Bank shares that 1 in 5 people in Oregon and Clark County, Washington face food insecurity, and that each month, approximately 270,000 people receive food from a food pantry in its statewide network of 21 regional food banks and 970 partner agencies.
