Join Hennebery Eddy During October Net-Positive Month Events

By Hennebery Eddy

Hennebery Eddy is gearing up for our second-annual Net-Positive Month in October — an entire month of activities aimed at promoting our net-positive philosophy in both professional and personal activities. With the goal of giving back more than we take – creating a “net-positive” impact – we invite our clients and friends to join us in two action-focused events.

The People’s EcoChallengeecochallenge.org

The EcoChallenge aims to establish sustainable personal habits over the course of three weeks. When many participate, the impacts add up to real change. Participants choose daily or one-time “challenges” to reduce their footprint and advocate for a sustainable future.

Hennebery Eddy has sponsored the EcoChallenge (and its various versions that occur throughout the year) since 2015; in that time, we’ve seen the global impact of this event grow exponentially. In October 2018, more than 16,000 people participated in 78 countries and achieved results like saving 264,425 gallons of water and diverting 29,981 disposable cups from the landfill — that’s more than 11 times the height of the Eiffel Tower.

The People’s EcoChallenge runs Oct. 2-23. Learn more and join Team Hennebery Eddy at the link above.

Sustainable Building Week Portlandwww.sustainablebuildingweek.com

Also in its second year, Sustainable Building Week aims to bring the best and brightest together to educate, connect, and foster collaboration opportunities to keep Portland on the forefront of the green building industry. Hennebery Eddy is again a presenting sponsor of this event because this topic is central to our practice.

During the week of Oct. 14, more than 30 events are planned to educate, advocate, and celebrate. These include many continuing education opportunities for design professionals. Sustainable Building Week is a partnership between design firms, academic institutes, and nonprofit organizations – a real cross-section of who is pushing the envelope for sustainable design in our city.

Sustainable Building Week runs Oct. 14-19. Check out the lineup of events and sign up at the link above.

Hennebery Eddy aspires to design net-positive solutions and create net-positive impacts through healthy, efficient, and adaptive space that are responsive to our clients, the environment, and the people who use them.
