Hennebery Eddy Architects Promotes Eight Across Portland & Bozeman Offices

Firm names seven associates and a vice president

Hennebery Eddy Architects has promoted eight team members across its Bozeman and Portland locations. In Bozeman, architects Laura Landon, Sten Witmer, and Michael Guiliano were named associates, recognizing their project and design leadership within Hennebery Eddy Architects’ Comma-Q Studio. Architects Jason Smith, Pooja Kashyap, and Sam Bennett and interior designer Liz Bray were promoted to associate in Portland. Principal Will Ives, AIA, was named vice president.

Hennebery Eddy principal Will Ives, AIA, was named vice president. Will joins president Tim Eddy and vice presidents Michelle Vo and Ben Lloyd as a firm officer. He joined the firm in 2011 and was named principal in 2020.

Laura Landon, AIA, has 18 years of architectural design and planning experience. Laura manages multiple projects guiding colleagues, consultants and owners toward design solutions that have net-positive outcomes for the community. Laura led the firm’s 23,500-square-foot cross-laminated-timber expansion of the Bozeman Community Food Coop and is project architect for Bridger View, a residential neighborhood development focused on sustainably designed housing for Bozeman’s “missing middle.” Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia School of Architecture and a Master of Architecture degree from Montana State University School of Architecture.

Sten Witmer, AIA, has a decade of architectural design experience and recently served as a project architect for the design of Building M, a 16,159 square-foot, two-story core-and-shell building in Bozeman’s Cannery District, now headquarters for a national materials science company. Sten draws on his fabrication experience to prioritize constructability on his projects. Sten holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree in Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture degree from the Montana State University School of Architecture.

Michael Guiliano, AIA, sensitively balances flexibility, resiliency, and creating a sense of place in his design work. Since 2014, Mike has worked with the Monforton School on programming and design for a multi-phase campus expansion. He is project architect for the HRDC Community First Griffin Place, which includes a food bank and Bozeman’s first year-round shelter for people experiencing houselessness. He was also a project architect for Building M in Bozeman’s Cannery District. Michael earned Bachelor of Architecture degree in Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture degree from the Montana State University School of Architecture.

Jason Smith, AIA, is passionate about the intersection of technology and buildings to positively impact in the urban environment. He is one of the project architects for the Rothko Pavilion and campus renovation at the Portland Art Museum, designed in partnership with Vinci Hamp Architects, and is currently working on the design of the Valdez Museum and Historic Archives in Valdez, Alaska. Jason is a LEED Green Associate and holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from Lawrence Technological University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of British Columbia.

Pooja Kashyap, AIA, is an advocate for sustainable and net-positive design solutions. Pooja championed environmentally sensitive decisions for the LEED Gold-certified (pending) Portland International Airport Concourse E extension, designed in partnership with Fentress Architects for the Port of Portland. Pooja is active in the firm’s sustainable design and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and was elected president of the newly formed Portland chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects. Pooja is LEED AP BD+C credentialed and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Liz Bray, NCIDQ, is a leader of the firm’s interior design team with over two decades of experience in planning and workplace design.  She is skilled in designing transformative spaces through planning, materiality, and sensitive detailing. She is overseeing furniture selection for the renovated and new areas of the Portland Art Museum and coordinating recrafting of existing furnishings. Liz also served as interior designer for renovation of the Columbia Square office building lobby in downtown Portland for Melvin Mark Companies. Bray is a LEED accredited professional and holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Arizona State University.

Sam Bennett, AIA, is inspired by finding ways to make beautiful buildings work efficiently.  She was part of the design/build team with Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company renovating and expanding the Oregon National Guard Youth Challenge Program campus near Bend, Oregon. She is project architect for the rehabilitation of the historic 61,000-square-foot 1925 Yellowstone National Park Transportation Building in Gardiner, Montana, and the complete exterior rehabilitation of Juniper Dormitory, a 1913 15,200-square-foot contributing structure to the Mammoth Hot Springs Historic District near the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Sam is a Certified Passive House Consultant and a LEED Green Associate. She has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon.
