Our work is about connecting with our community and our shared environment

Bozeman Studio

Hennebery Eddy’s Comma-Q Studio in Bozeman has helped shape the Gallatin Valley and Yellowstone region since 1993. With an emphasis on community-based projects, our architects and interior designers draw on our deep understanding of Montana’s culture and climate to create thoughtful, place-based designs and ensure that growth in the region continues to cultivate a healthy way of life.

A Local Team With Regional Impact

Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport

In collaboration with Morrison-Maierle and RS&H, we continue to help BZN evolve to serve our growing region, from master planning and the terminal expansion that opened in 2020, to the planned new concourse and new passenger amenities.

Montana State Capitol

After an extensive condition assessment led by our in-house Historic Resources Group, we will continue to help the State of Montana rehabilitate and maintain this iconic early 1900s building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

MSU Gianforte Hall

Together with Montana State University and our design partner Lake|Flato Architects, we are creating a new multidisciplinary facility for world-class computer science and technology learning, research, and industry.

Crosscut Lodge Mountain Sports Center

Our team is working with local nonprofit Crosscut to envision a new nordic skiing center for aspiring and elite biathletes. The lodge is targeting the highest levels of sustainable design and universal access for both para and non-para athletes.

Join Our Team

We believe in bringing together the right people to create successful teams — and in our tight-knit Bozeman studio, that means ample opportunity for team members to wear a variety of hats while working on important regional design projects.

We`re working with the University of Oregon to renovate and restore two of its oldest buildings - University & Villard Halls. The Heritage Project site is one of only 17 designated National Historic Landmarks in Oregon. We will be renewing the historic character of the structures, while also making seismic, fire, and accessibility upgrades. University & Villard Halls will be home to modern, flexible teaching facilities that will keep these buildings relevant for another 150 years. Image via Oregon Digital.

Yellowstone National Park is 150 years old! Along with its stunning geysers, amazing wildlife, and striking natural beauty, Yellowstone is home to almost 900 cultural resources, including numerous buildings with historical significance. For the past decade, Hennebery Eddy’s Historic Resources Group has been working with National Park Service officials and YNP concessioner Xanterra to preserve historically significant structures that are essential to the Yellowstone National Park experience. Pictured is the Yellowstone Park Transportation Co. Building, built in 1925. // Read more about our work in Yellowstone at henneberyeddy.com/news

Pause, Then Question: The Comma-Q Studio

The Bozeman studio was founded as Comma-Q Architecture in 1993, inspired by the idea of pausing (comma) and questioning (Q) before putting pencil to paper. For more than a decade, we collaborated with our colleagues in Portland, and in January 2021, officially merged with Hennebery Eddy Architects. Rooted in the same core values and supported by regional expertise in historic resources, alternative delivery, and sustainable design, our merger has strengthened our ability to create places that serve Montanans for generations to come.

Work + Play

Our studio sits in the heart of the West, where a strong work ethic is balanced with room for play. Four-season recreation — like world-class skiing, fishing, and hiking — combined with staff events like summer “QBQs” contribute to a great quality of life. In turn, we contribute to our community with pro-bono services, like work with the Gallatin Valley Land Trust to increase access to recreation for all.

The CQ Gallery

On public display in our studio’s storefront window, the CQ Gallery is about making connections — with our neighbors, friends, clients, and colleagues. The alternating exhibits feature curated staff and visiting artist displays that spark new ideas and promote a shared sense of place.
