“In my mind, each design opportunity naturally begins with three different cultural approaches. I grew up on three different continents, learning to write and speak in three languages, and I think this influences how I approach design. I enjoy finding those creative moments where my perspective brings something unique to a design decision and pushes the outcome a bit further than the client anticipated going.”

Alexander integrates the open-mindedness of art with the elegant focus of engineering. As the firm’s lead specifications writer, he helps translate the architectural intent of projects into their final built form. His specifications are closely coordinated with the design drawings to minimize questions and errors during construction while also supporting net-positive outcomes through sustainable, long-lasting, and healthy materials. Alexander is also a skilled project manager, and complex technical and design challenges benefit greatly from his high attention to detail. A long-time member of the Construction Specifications Institute, he currently serves as the Portland chapter immediate past president. Alexander is a Fulbright Scholar with Master of Architecture degrees from the University of New Mexico and from the Technical University, Berlin.
